Gobophotography Live Guest Review - Matt Stockl - Blue Nova - Pivo Pivo

We have the first of two new guest spot reviews from Pivo Pivo's excellent official in-house photography team - Gobophotography!
Matt Stockl

Matt Stockl's Charm is his delectable way with words, demonstrating on first encounter his musical out-pouring. It was clear to me that his creativity towards writing flowed naturally, giving us an array of poetical, hypnotising, witty and thought provoking lyrics. His words sustained a lingering resonance through his projection of song, and throughout the entirety of his set he painted a clear, captivating picture for the minds eye to see..Such aptitude is impressive, and from the word go I was pulled into the sea of words in which Matt provided. On first impression I can't help but compare his voice to Jeff Buckley, and I would not be in the least surprised if he was heavily influenced by such singer song writers. Matt has a tone in his voice that is reminiscent of Jeff's and can be described as an ethereal voice containing a lightness and a tone that draws the listener in. Providing us with a fantastic solo electric set, Matt played out his latest material, with my personal highlight being a song called “Laugh yerself feral” - which contained a poking sarcasm within it which I both totally understood, and affiliated with. Matt is a fresh and up and coming artist and I think he will create a keen stir within the local scene and beyond, and I look forward to hearing more from him in the near future. Matt's music can be found on reverberation on this following link; http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/17822155  and also here on facebook; https://www.facebook.com/idiotbeat I recommend you check this very talented singer song writer out.
Blue Nova

Four years on the Glasgow circuit and the lads from Blue Nova Have rocked up just about every venue you can think of across the city. Their punk rock demeanor is fueled by their passion to smash out exactly what they feel, and without doubt these lads play 200% every time, whether it be to a packed house or to a posse of twelve, they are sure to deliver every thing they got. Sustaining an alternative edge to their sound they maintain an impulsive, rocking, beat-driven show, with sharp bursts of rough-edged guitar, intertwined through streams of melodic textures. Front man Caz, with his distinctive look and a fire in his head, smashed out his performance with ardor. Blue Nova have no shortage of energy and passion for performing and they are skilled in creating just the right amount of hedonistic vibrations to get the crowd going. The lads have a fantastic energetic style, jiving plenty of witty banter between them and the audience, and an aggressive passionate outburst was provided for us at the end of their show with heavy feedback, and mic's and guitars being flung around, giving us plenty of heady energy to feed off just in the time for the next set. Please check out the awesome sound of Blue Nova here on Soundcloud: soundcloud.com/blue-nova also on Myspace https://myspace.com/bluenovaofficial/music/song/02-blue-eyed-devil.wma-81260058-89520839 and here on facebook; https://www.facebook.com/bluenovaglasgow
